Psst… 38th Denver Film Festival

The 38th Denver Film Festival begins Wednesday, November 4th through Sunday, November 15th 2015!

The Denver Film Festival (DFF) is is the largest premier film celebration in the Rocky Mountain Region and attracts nearly 58,000 filmgoers every year.  This year’s program boasts more than 250 films, representing 39 countries.

The festival opens with Anomalisa, Charlie Kaufman’s (Being John Malkovich, Adaptation, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind) first stop-motion film. Michael Moore’s latest documentary, Where to Invade Next, will hold Centerpiece on November 6th. Carol, starring Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara, will be featured as the Red Carpet Matinee. James Sadwith’s first feature, Coming Through the Rye will close out the festival.

“This year’s Red Carpet Presentations represent four unique voices in cinema,” said Festival Director Britta Erickson. “From the ingenious mind of Charlie Kaufman, to the ever challenging viewpoint of Michael Moore; from the stunning Oscar-worthy performances in Carol, to the cinematic ode to The Catcher in the Rye, the Denver Film Festival’s Red Carpet premieres offer a chance for audiences to truly be swept away by the magic of film.”

DFF Special Presentations include: The Boat Builder, Brooklyn, Hitchcock/Truffaut, I Saw the Light, The Lady in the Van, Mediterranea, Mia Madre, My All American, Son of Saul, Suffragette, and Youth (from 2013 Maria & Tommaso Maglione Italian Filmmaker Award and Academy Award® Winner, Paolo Sorrentino).

The festival will culminate with the inaugural Denver Film Festival Awards Brunch where attendees will mingle with filmmakers, festival insiders and fellow movie lovers over bottomless mimosas and Bloody Marys for a sit-down affair and presentation on Sunday, November 15 at 11:00am at the The Curtis Hotel, ( Ticket prices to the Awards brunch are $55 for DFS members and $60 for non-members).

Red Carpet Presentations will take place at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House. Special Presentations and regular screenings will take place at the Sie FilmCenter and the UA Denver Pavilions Stadium 15.

Individual tickets and Red Carpet packages are available online at denverfilm.org or at the DFF main box office location at the Sie FilmCenter, 2510 E. Colfax Ave., Denver, CO 80206. Regular screening tickets are $12 for DFS members and $15 for non-members, Special Presentation tickets  are $14 for DFS members and $17 for non-members. Red Carpet packages start at $60 and go off sale on November 4th at 8pm.
