To help you get the most out of this Halloween season we came up with 16 spooky things to do in Denver this Halloween 2022. Whether you’re looking for spook-tacular thrills, adult friendly haunts, or family fun; this list is scary good.

SPOOK-TACULAR THRILLS

You scream, I scream… we all scream for Halloween!

1. FRIGHT FEST

Kicking off our list of frightful delights is Elitch Gardens’ Fright Fest.

Fright Fest runs every weekend in October and is serving up family fun during the day AND frights by night. You’ll enjoy all your favorite rides with spooky surprises along the way. Be sure to check out one (or all) three of the haunted attractions and keep an eye out for the ghouls, goblins, monsters and others that stalk the park by night.

Psst… for those looking to get a little mystical WitchFest, Colorado’s largest festival honoring all magical traditions and paths, takes place October 21st from 6PM-11PM and October 22nd from 12PM-11PM.

2. GHOST TOUR PUB CRAWL

Up next is a spooky season must – Nightly Spirits’ Ghost Tour Pub Crawl. This ghost tour meets pub crawl takes you on a walking tour of some of the spookiest and most haunted places/stories Denver has to offer.

Don’t hold it against us if we sit this one out!

3. THE 13TH FLOOR

Come for the haunted house, stay for the Halloween vibes.

Aside from their incredible haunted house(s), the 13th Floor Haunted House has plenty of Halloween themed fun to keep you coming back for more. From axe throwing, mini-escape rooms, Shriekeasy Bar and more; there’s plenty of fun to be had.

4. SHAKESFEAR: AN AUTUMN’S TALE

While our next pick isn’t technically in Denver – ShakesFear: An Autumn’s Tale was just too spooky not to include.

This immersive Shakespearean experience presented by: CU Boulder’s College of Arts and Sciences Department of Theatre & Dance is a great way to enjoy this famous playwright’s most sinister tales. You’ll traverse the perimeter of the Mary Rippon Outdoor Theatre and face bloody, ghostly and ghastly characters as they haunt the campus. 5. DRACULA – COLORADO BALLET

Rounding out our list of spook-tacular fun is the Colorado Ballet’s production of Dracula.

This haunting rendition of Bram Stoker’s legendary gothic love story marks the ballet’s season opener. Complete with mesmerizing choreography and an original score (performed live), this haunting, all-consuming cult favorite promises to leave you with goosebumps. Running through October 16th, be sure to grab your tickets before it’s too late.

ADULT FRIENDLY HAUNTS

Tricks aren’t just for kids this Halloween, there’s plenty of adult-geared fun to be had this season.

6. MY NEIGHBOR FELIX

Kicking off our list of adult friendly haunts is a visit to My Neighbor Felix. This October their LoHi location transforms into a haunted Halloween themed pop-up bar that is to die for. Complete with spooky cocktails, music, movies and more; we can’t wait to check it out!

7. BURTON’S HALLOWEEN BAR

Do we have any Tim Burton fans in the house?

Burton’s Halloween Bar, located in Zeppelin Station, is a great homage to the king of Halloween. Each ticket includes a boozy welcome drink, games, ghost tour, and appearances from some of your favorite Burton characters. We’ll see you there!

8. SPIRITS HALLOWEEN POP-UP BAR

While this secret bar may not be so secret anymore – Spirits Halloween pop-up bar is back for another round of Halloween fun. Located in Larimer Square and open 7 days a week, you’ll want to creep on over before it’s too late.

9. CARVING + COCKTAILS

Pumpkin carving + cocktails, sign us up!

Terminal Bar is back with a slew of Halloween tricks and treats this season – and we can’t wait to check out their Carving and Cocktails event on October 16thTickets include a spooky cocktail, the pumpkin of your dreams, and all the necessary tools to get your carve on.

10. HALLOWED HOWL

Our next pick is sure to be a howling good time.

We’re of course talking about Hallowed Howl, presented by Meow Wolf and Live Nation. Taking place on October 29th, it’s sure to be a night of creations, creatures, and monster mashing. With performances from SG Lewis and Folamour – you’ll want to bring your costumes AND dancing shoes. In true Meow Wolf fashion the night will also feature special art and performances throughout the venue to immerse yourself in this fever dream Halloween extravaganza. Be sure to visit their site for tickets, venue FAQs, and more.

11. GRAVEYARD GROOVE SILENT DISCO

Let’s get this party startled!

McGregor Square is back with their 2nd annual Graveyard Groove Silent Disco that’s sure to be a real treat. Taking place on October 28th, it’s the perfect way to get your Halloweekend started. Tickets include your very own silent disco headset, spooky bites and welcome drink, boomerang booth, giant beer pong and more.

FAMILY FUN

For those looking for some good old fashioned not-so-scary family fun, this list is for you!

12. GOATFLIX & CHILL

@Rocky Mountain Goat Yoga

Halloween wouldn’t be complete without a visit to this Denver Ear favorite – Rocky Mountain Goat Yoga’s, Goatflix & Chill. Perfect for the goat-lovers in the family, this twist on a classic spooky movie night is sure to be fun for the whole family. Grab a seat + a goat, and let’s start the show.

Psst… we’d highly recommend you dress (extra) warm and pack comfy chairs.

13. FRIGHT LIGHTS

While we know you may already be familiar with Christmas in Color, they are back with a very special Halloween edition of their drive-thru light show, Fright Lights. Taking place at their Waterworld location – you’ll drive through giant pumpkins, a spooky graveyard, arched pathways and more. Be sure to grab your tickets before they’re all gone

14. WILD FALL

As if The Denver Zoo couldn’t get any better– Wild Fall at the Denver Zoo is perfect for those looking for some not-so-scary Halloween fun. The Denver Zoo transforms their 84-acre campus into a “falloween” extravaganza. Complete with roaming costumed characters, creature-carved pumpkins, festive food + drink, and special animal demos that connect the supernatural beings to the real-life it’s sure to bring the Halloween fun. 

15. MAGIC OF THE JACK O’LANTERNS

Keeping with the Halloween fun Magic of the Jack O’Lanterns, needs to be on your list this year. With over 5,000 hand-carved jack o’lanterns and incredible displays to match, it’s like walking into a real life Halloween Town. Located at Hudson Garden’s in Littleton, you’ll want to snag your tickets before they’re all gone.

16. HOWL-A-WEEN PET PARADE

Last but certainly not least is Union Station’s Howl-A-Ween Pet Parade.

Taking place on October 23rd – this event is free to join and a great way to show off your furry friends and their costumes. Be sure to stick around for Yappy Hour with drink specials taking place during/after the parade on Terminal Bar’s patio!
