Hello July!
With summer heating up, we came up with 9 things to do in Denver this July that need to be at the top of your list. From 4th of July fun, incredible events, and must-see shows; bring on the summer fun.
4th OF JULY FUN
1. INDY EVE
Kicking off our list is a downtown Denver favorite, reimagined!
We’re of course talking about Civic Center Park’s iconic Indy Eve celebration. This year’s 3rd of July extravaganza runs from 5-10 PM and is sure to be packed full of Independence Day fun. You’ll enjoy Denver’s largest-ever drone show, the inaugural run of Civic Center Night Market, DJ sets, a live performance from the Colorado Symphony Brass & Percussion Ensemble, and two different light shows.
2. BELMAR BIG BASH
We love a bash!
Keeping with the July 3rd theme, the Belmar Big Bash is sure to be a blast for the whole family. Running from 5-10 PM, you’ll enjoy a bevy of Independence Day fun in the heart of Downtown Lakewood. Featuring live music, kids activities, local vendors and plenty of food and drinks, it’s a great way to enjoy your pre-4th day.

3. ELITCH FIREWORKS
Our next pick is perfect for those looking for some good old fashion fun!
Elitch Gardens is serving up a spectacular July 5th fireworks show that you won’t want to miss. Fireworks begin at park closing and are the perfect way to kick off your weekend festivities.

4. TACOLANDIA
You had us at tacos.
Kicking off our list of Denver events is Westword’s Tacolandia extravaganza. Taking place on July 13th at Civic Center Park, you’ll sample unlimited tacos from some of the best restaurants in Denver. If that’s not enough to get you in the door, you’ll also enjoy lucha libre wrestling, mariachi, delicious margaritas and much more. Tickets are sure to go quick and can be found here.
5. FAN EXPO
While our next pick needs no introduction – the Fan Expo Denver makes its return this July.
Taking place July 4-7 at the Convention Center, it’s the perfect place for comic, sci-fi, horror, anime, gaming, and/or cosplay aficionados alike. From celebrity guests, special events, photo ops and more, it’s a great way to beat the heat and immerse yourself in all things fan culture. Tickets can be found here.
6. THE BIG EAT
Rounding out our list of events is the return of a summer favorite, The Big Eat 2024.
EatDenver’s annual food festival is back and better than ever – featuring unlimited bites, sips, and fun from over 70+ of your favorite bars, restaurants, and beverage brands. This open-air event is 21+ (sorry kiddos) and takes place on Thursday July 18th at the Denver Performing Arts Complex. Be sure visit their site for tickets, restaurant lineups, and more.

7. UNDERGROUND MUSIC SHOWCASE
Up first is one of our favorite summer shows, the Underground Music Showcase (UMS).
The UMS is a great way to up your indie street crew, as over 200+ artists take over South Broadway for 3 days of fun. Taking place July 26-28, it’s a great way to check out your new favorite band. Single day and weekend passes are still available and can be found here.
8. RISE COMEDY FESTIVAL
Our next pick is a celebration of all things Colorado improv and stand up!
The RISE Comedy Festival runs over 2 weekends in July and August and features improve, standup, workshops, classes, parties and more.
9. GLOBAL DANCE FESTIVAL
Get on your dancing shoes!
It wouldn’t be July without this Denver favorite, Global Dance Festival. This year’s festival runs July 26-27 at the Stockyards Event Center and features an absolutely stacked lineup. Tickets are still available and range from GA and VIP day/weekend passes and exclusive cabana access.
