Truth be told…they had me at croquet and cocktails. Then I found out this oh-so-fun tournament was being held at Union Station (the place to be!) AND would benefit a local non-profit whose mission is to reduce isolation and loneliness to individuals living with Alzheimer’s and dementia. The Governor’s Cup, presented by Modern Gladiator Magazine, is a croquet tournament and lawn party which raises money for Jiminy Wicket’s award-winning mentorship program Through Hoops to Hope. The foundation was started to raise awareness for Alzheimer’s and bridge the intergenerational gap between Alzheimer’s patients, high school and college students by playing croquet. Players of all ages and skill levels are welcome to play, so grab a partner and your finest 1920s threads for an afternoon of croquet! Spectator tickets are $20 and player spots are $50 – entry includes hors d’oeuvres and cocktails from the open bar. For businesses that wish to sign-up to play we encourage them to wear their company shirts and come ready to network!
