With so many Halloween events going on this year, I thought it’s best to divide the Halloween feature into two: one for kids and one for adults.
So with that, I give you feature #1:
Halloween 2015 in Denver FOR KIDS
Glow at the Gardens
When: October 14th, 21st & 28th 2015
Time: 6pm – 9pm (last entry at 8:30pm)
Where: Denver Botanic Gardens, 1007 York St., Denver 80206
This fall, the Gardens presents its newest event: Glow at the Gardens. The York Street location will light up the night with jack-o’-lanterns and luminaria-lined pathways winding through the grounds to reveal larger-than-life pumpkin displays. Stories by The Story Seeker, scavenger hunts and other fall-themed activities will be part of the fun. All activities included with admission. Separate costs are for food and cash bar.
Price: $12 Adult, $10 Adult Member, $8 Child (ages 3-15), $6 Child Member.

Kids Night Out Halloween

Scream Scram 5K Run/Walk

Get in the spirit of the season with Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver’s Scream Scram 5k Run and Walk, Denver’s favorite Halloween 5K. Grab your friends, family and four-legged monsters for an easy run or walk through Denver’s Wash Park. Don your most creative or spookiest costume and walk the Orange Carpet for judging before taking off on this easy, paved course at dusk. At the Finish Line, you’ll find plenty of tricks and treats in their incredible expo area featuring delectable food and beverage items.

Bug-A-Boo

Saturday, October 17th: Guest appearances by the Arabian Princess, the Mermaid Princess, and the Caped Crusader from 12:00 pm-3:00 pm! The characters participate in a costume parade at 12:15 pm, do a short performance following, and then there will be about an hour and a half for a meet and greet.
Sunday, October 18th: Guest appearances by the Galactic Warrior, Cinderella Modern, and the Spider Hero from 12:00 pm-3:00 pm! The characters participate in a costume parade at 12:15 pm, do a short performance following, and then there will be about an hour and a half for a meet and greet.
Bug-A-Boo will also include: Costumes, Candy, Crawlies, Indoor Trick-or-Treating, Costume Parade Cockroach Races Face Painting and Kids Craft All Day.

Zombie Zone at the Denver Pavilions

Hallow-Teen: Potions, Elixirs and the Power of Poison

TEENS ONLY (13-17)
Be forewarned, this poisonous party is not for the fate of heart! Concoct your own powerful potion, venture into the darkest reaches of the temporary exhibit, The Power of Poison, discern the difference between venomous and villainous, and dine on a dinner made for the undead.

Trick Or Treat Street at Children’s Museum of Denver
Dates: October 23rd, 24th & 25th 2015

It’s the sweetest time of year, so round up your fairies, super heroes and tiny goblins for a trick-or-treating adventure bursting with fun! From Treat Houses filled with yummy goodies, to a Monster Carnival overflowing with games, and lots of Halloween arts and crafts, there’s always something fun to experience.
**Please note: This is a safe, friendly event for small children. Please, no scary costumes**
Parking is free for Museum members and $5 for non-Museum members on event days. Activities included with Museum admission.
MonsterDash 5k/10k/Kid’s Race
When: October 24th 2015

The 6th Annual MonsterDASH 5k/10k and kids races draw hundreds of families from around the area to celebrate the Halloween Holiday in Old Town Louisville.
The Festival opens at 1:00pm with pumpkin painting, pumpkin bowling, jumpy castles, demos, sampling, costume contests, and a new Pumpkin Pie Eating Contest. The flat 5k/10k start at 3:00pm and runs on the Coal Creek Trails. The 3 kids races begin at 4:15pm.

Trek or Treat Off the Street

Trek or Treat Off the Street is a Halloween celebration with plenty of spooky surprises for children of all ages. Will you dare take the Haunted Trek through Ghoul-ology? This event features a variety of activities including creepy crawly crafts, live animals, a bounce house and much more for the entire family!
In honor of the greatest Halloween tradition, candy booths will line the museum’s hallways, allowing guests to fill up their bags with candy and spooky toys in a safe, fun environment regardless of weather conditions.

Boo at the Zoo

Hilltop Halloween Parade

Join the annual parade and party in the Hilltop neighborhood in Denver! Parade route begins in Cranmer Park and ends up in Robinson Park with carnival games and treats. Please bring canned goods to support the Denver Rescue Mission. Halloween Spooktacular

A family tradition of the not-too-scary-sort, this concert features music from the Harry Potter movies as well as a few surprises! Be sure to dress up for the Halloween festivities and witness the zany costumes the Colorado Symphony musicians create. Some of the young concertgoers will be invited on stage to show off their costumes as well!
Overnight at the Museum: A Poisonous Halloween

An enchanting evening awaits your whole family at this spook-tacular sleepover. Ooey-gooey activities, ghostly good times, and trick-or-treat trivia are followed by camping out in the diorama halls. Wake up to breakfast, an IMAX film, and time to explore the temporary exhibition The Power of Poison.
Includes pizza dinner, evening snack, and hot breakfast.
This event is for families with K–8th grade children only.

8th Annual Highland Haunt
When: October 31st 2015

Where: 32nd Ave. from Clay to Zuni Street
For 8 years the popular Highland Haunt has brought together Denver residents of all ages for an entertaining day of costumes, community, and FREE fun. The Haunt is looking forward to having the street filled with people in costume and encourages attendees to dress up and join the fun! The event will culminate with a costume parade and contest to choose the most clever, scary or original costumes. This year they are excited to welcome a surprise guest judge! No pre-registration is necessary. Simply arrive at the Zuni Stage area after the 1:30pm costume parade to participate. Fantastic prizes will be given for the best costumes in the following categories: Kids by Age Group, Adult Male, Adult Female and Family/Group.
Music by When It Was and The Tommy Knoxvilles will be featured at each end of the street, with a special performance by the Bryant Webster Mariachi Band.
Hauntings at the Hangar

Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum invites werewolves, witches and wandering spirits of all ages to spend a spooky Saturday in their 1930s hangar. And, of course, show off your Halloween costume in the costume parade.

Trick or Treat Train

Where: Colorado Railroad Museum, 17155 W. 44th Avenue, Golden 80403
It’s full steam ahead for tricks, treats and trains at the Colorado Railroad Museum.
The Railroad Halloween Town is a safe place to enjoy Halloween. Catch a ride behind the historic locomotive in vintage passenger cars hosted by conductors and engineers in full costume. The Trick or Treat Train departs every 30 minutes between 10:00AM and 4:00PM.
Visit all the Town’s special stops to fill your treat bags and tickle your funny bones. Try a visit the “not so spooky” haunted railcar or the Olde Railroaders silly graveyard. And, get a great picture of your costume as you pause in front of the Pumpkin Patch.
Museum Members and children under 2 are FREE, $5 for children (2-15), $15 for adults, $10 for seniors (over 60).
