The Commemorative Air Force (CAF) is landing its WWII aircrafts at Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport in Broomfield this weekend. See history come to life when the iconic B-29 Superfortress, “FIFI”, leads the AirPower History Tour, along with P-51 Mustang, “Gunfighter,” and the C-45 Expeditor, “Bucket of Bolts.”
Getting up close and personal with these aircraft is the best way to learn history. CAF invites everyone to come climb the ladder, navigate their way into the cockpit and experience the history first hand. Your paid admission includes the opportunity to tour the B-29 and B-24.
Children of all ages and their parents are encouraged to take a cockpit tour. There are no ropes or barriers, just full access. Get up close and take lots of pictures.

CenterStage Theatre Company is hosting open auditions for their upcoming November production of “The Lion King Jr”, the Tony Award winning Broadway musical of Disney’s beloved film. It will feature many elements of that stage production such as fabulous African inspired costumes, character masks and puppets, and exciting choreography.
All actors must be in 5th grade to 9th grade to be eligible to audition and prepare approximately 32 bars of a musical theatre song in the style of the show and the character they are most interested in for the primary audition.
They request to not choose a song from the show. The audition should include a recorded accompaniment that does not have a primary singer, like a karaoke track. This should be either on a phone, iPad, MP3 player, or on a CD. Do not plan to use something over the internet as it may not be available – download it first to your device. A Cappella auditions are not allowed.

This weekend, the 11th Annual Denver Modernism Show will take place at the National Western Complex. This popular event features furnishings, home decor, fashion, art and electronics from an era when the future was bright and space was the place.
Over 100 exhibitor booths full of vintage and contemporary modern design such as furniture, artwork and objects from mid-century, eco, retro, Eames-era, Mod and more. There will also be a Tiki lounge all three days, a Post-Atomic Car Show on Sunday, and the Miss Modernism Pageant on Friday night.

Pop–Up FreeRange Playground + Star Wars: The Force Awakens Movie

Stapleton MCA is hosting an outdoor screening of the film “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” with a special pop-up playground prior to the movie, hosted by FreeRange Playground! The pop-up playground will be located toward the back near the concessions tent, across from the slide.
They’ll have a play area for supervised, child-led, parent-free play with repurposed and recycled materials for children ages 5 – 12 year olds. Parents must remain on-site for the duration of their child’s play, but are free to visit nearby vendors and picnic sites. If they reach playground capacity, we will set up a rolling wait list to allow as many children to play as possible.
Once its dusk, the screening of the movie Star Wars: The Force Awakens will take place. Lawn chairs and blankets welcome.
