The 91st Annual Arvada Harvest Festival & Parade is an Arvada tradition since 1929! The festival features a Harvest Run, a 5 K, 10 K, & Half Marathon Run, parade, live musical performances, a Spelling Bee, a food fair, Kids’ Fun Zone and family activities, a Garden Harvest Fair, amusements, games and more.

Thomas the Tank Engine will be chugging into the Colorado Railroad Museum and invites little engineers to team up with him for a day of family fun at Day Out with Thomas: The Ready, Set, Go Tour 2016. This fun-filled event offers children and their families the opportunity to take a ride with Thomas the Tank Engine, star of the popular Thomas & Friends™ series. In addition, they will meet Sir Topham Hatt, Controller of the Railway and enjoy a day of Thomas-themed activities.

Freedom Service Dogs of America are hosting the 9th Annual Doggie Plunge at Pirates Cove Family Aquatic Center this Saturday. Bring your friendly pooch to take the plunge with hundreds of four-legged swimmers. Families will enjoy food trucks with life jackets and water toys provided by Outward Hounds. Every dog leaves with a PawBender ice cream treat from Good Times.

Toddler & Preschooler FreeRange Pop-Up Playground

FreeRange Playground are hosting a free Pop-Up Playground at The Montessori Children’s House of Denver this Saturday. They’ll have a primary play area for supervised, child-led, parent-free play with repurposed and recycled materials for 3 – 6 year olds, as well as a dedicated toddler space for parents to play with their youngest children (3 and under).

Rocky Mountain PBS Kids Fun Fest

Rocky Mountain PBS Kids Fun Fest is taking place in Denver this Saturday! Join them for the biggest free block party of the year. Now in its 20th year, Rocky Mountain PBS KIDS Fun Fest draws thousands of kids and families to the street, to the parking lot and to the Denver studios for a magical day of free family fun.

Friendship Powwow & American Indian Cultural Celebration

The 27th Annual Friendship Powwow and American Indian Cultural Celebration at the Denver Art Museum will feature American Indian dancers, drum groups, working artists, hands-on activities, artist booths, and more. One of the Denver Art Museum’s longest-running events, Friendship Powwow is a celebration of the vitality of American Indian cultures.

Throughout the day, visitors can watch colorful dance competitions and enjoy fry bread. Stop by the Native Arts Artist-in-Residence Studio, focused this summer on the artistry and creation of powwow regalia. Also, don’t miss the American Indian art collection on levels two and three of the North Building.

Urban Homestead Tour | Jefferson Park Farm & Flea & Denver Botanic Gardens

The Denver Botanic Gardens and Jefferson Park Farm and Flea Market are partnering together to present the 4th Annual Urban Homestead Tour! The tour will showcase many examples of urban gardening – small to large scale – chicken and bee keeping, composting, etc. Most importantly, tour-goers will see how the hosting families have integrated these activities into their daily lives with the purpose of leading a more sustainable lifestyle.

There are 10 tour stops spread throughout Denver and Arvada. You will choose where to start and how many stops to visit. Then, finish the tour at the Jefferson Park Farm & Flea Market for a panel discussion with the homeowners as well as great offers from local businesses.

Mineral, Fossil, Gem & Jewelry Show

The Mineral, Fossil, Gem & Jewelry Show features fine mineral specimens, agates, fossils, dinosaurs, meteorites, gems, hand-made jewelry, crystals, metaphysical, gold, silver, copper, interior decor, native American items, amber with insect inclusions, turquoise, rubies, emeralds, beads, petrified wood, artisan jewelry boxes, rough, tools, supplies, and so much more.

Items are priced from $1 to $1 million. This is where museums come to shop and gift shops buy their inventory.

RidgeFest 2016
