Denver-based restaurateur Mission Yogurt, Inc. will open Que Bueno Suerte! in Denver’s popular Platt Park neighborhood on Sunday, December 11th, 2016.
Chef Dana Rodriguez of the acclaimed RiNo restaurant, Work & Class, will oversee the restaurant as consulting chef, along with Vicente “Vinny” Sosa, executive chef, and a talented culinary team.
The restaurant will serve upscale, modern and eclectic Mexican cuisine for dinner, as well as offer a late-night component; brunch and lunch will be added at a later date.
The menu includes numerous shared plates, or “Platos Para Compartir,” soups and salads, or “Sopas y Ensaladas,” cold dishes, or “Lo Frio,” and warm plates, or “Platos Fuertes.” The cuisine is punctuated by an extensive tequila and mezcal list, as well as a variety of seasonal cocktails.
“Vinny and I are extremely excited for this project with the Tafoya family,” said Rodriguez. “It is a big restaurant, but Vinny has an amazing team in place in Ivan Ceballos, sous chef; Jenn Mena, general manager; and our floor team. This menu is representative of Vinny’s childhood, but with elements of modern Latin fusion, creating his own signature dishes.”
The space features original Mayan-inspired artwork, including hand-painted chairs, and a large mural by local artist Daniel Luna. A large Mayan pyramid sits in the center, overlooking the restaurant.
“I was proud to be a part of Que Bueno! in the Promenade for many years, and am excited to help launch the new, revamped and refreshed Que Bueno Suerte!,” said Kyle Hill, restaurant manager.
Mission purchased the building, which formerly housed Session Kitchen, late last year after learning the Westminster Promenade, home to its 11-year-old restaurant, Que Bueno!, would be demolished in May 2016.
“We’re so proud to present innovative menu selections from the next generation of Que Bueno! to Denver,” said Rod Tafoya, president of Mission Yogurt. “The neighborhood has become accustomed to great cuisine and service in a beautiful setting, and we’re looking forward to continuing that tradition.”
Mission also operates a variety of culinary concepts, including Root Down DIA, Timberline Steaks & Grille, Etai’s and Que Bueno! Mexican Grille at Denver International Airport.
