Psst… Savvy Seconds

If you have yet to hear of Savvy Seconds and their events in and around Denver, then now is the time to get introduced to the most fun (and rewarding!) shopping experience in town.

But first things first…

What is Savvy Seconds?

Savvy Seconds

Savvy Seconds is a company that was founded by two women, Tamar Arbeli and Joanna (Jojo) Cush. They both hail from the city of Milwaukee in Wisconsin and moved to Denver a couple of years ago. While living in Milwaukee, they both connected via their two young daughters who were in school together. They became friends and realized they both were thrifty women that shared a love of savvy shopping for themselves and for their kids.

Tamar Arbeli and Joanna Cush

Basically they loved nice, boutique, designer clothes for women and children without having to pay the high price tag (Don’t we all?!). When they moved to Denver they decided to open Savvy Seconds, which produces pop-up consignment sales for women, teens and children on selected dates and in different locations.

You can expect a huge selection of new and gently worn brand name, boutique and designer clothing, shoes, handbags, jewelry and accessories from petite to plus sizes, including maternity.

Their inventory is always new from one show to the next and they will be hosting 6-8 shows a year all around Denver, with thousands of items to shop from!

As a consignor, you can expect to earn 60-75% back on every sale and receive VIP shopping privileges at the private pre-sale shopping event.

How Does Savvy Seconds Work?

Savvy Seconds

If you would like to sell your gently used clothes you need to login on their website at: www.savvysecondssale.com/sell, create a free user account, tag the item you would like to sell, select a check-in time to drop off your clothes, arrive with your items and the desired check-in time and get ready for the sales event!

All consignors will receive a base of 60% of their sales. Consignors receive an additional 5% for each four-hour shift they help at with the potential of earning up to 75%, (you can sign up as a volunteer when logging into your account).
Savvy Seconds will mail a check within two-weeks following the sale. Your $15 consignor fee will be subtracted from your earnings.

If you would like to shop at the Savvy Seconds sales events then you should know that there is NO FEE to attend and available dressing rooms to try on clothes and they accept cash, debit cards, VISA, MasterCard and Discover.

Helping the Community

Consigners can choose to pick-up their unsold items or alternatively, they can choose to donate their unsold items to local charities such as: WeeCycle & The Gathering Place, that Savvy Seconds has teamed up with.

WeeCycle

WeeCycle is a local charity whose mission is to help low income families with infants and toddlers in the Denver metro area by providing them with new and gently used baby gear free of charge. They acquire the gear through the charitable donations of individuals and businesses and distribute it through local community organizations already serving families with infants and toddlers affected by poverty, homelessness, domestic violence, teen pregnancy and under-employment.

The Gathering Place

The Gathering Place serves about 9,000 individuals per year and about half of them consider themselves to be homeless. The other half are housed, but living in poverty and in need of assistance to make ends meet. As the only daytime drop-in center for women and children in Denver, The Gathering Place could be the one place where a woman finds the resources that help her rebuild her life. Every day they provide resources and services to approximately 270 women and children.

“One of the most important things for us is the full circle of business that Savvy Seconds provides. The idea of giving back to the community is really important for us. We constantly partner with local organizations” says co-founder Tamar Arbeli. “At our last event we donated around 1,000 un-sold items to charities” says co-founder Joanna Cush.
