I have lived in Arvada for over 3 years. It is where both my girls have spent the first years of their lives. Needless to say, it holds a special place in my heart.
Therefore, once I heard about this great event (that not only promotes local artists and sustaining the environment) but also is held in Arvada, I had to give it The Denver Ear “shoutout”.
The city of Arvada is hosting it’s 3rd Annual Sustain Arvada Fine Arts & Craft Festival.
This event is a FREE family and community market event that showcases artists who have re-used, recycled and re-made junk into treasures that are available for purchase and also includes a 5K, a 10K, a Half-Marathon and ‘Family Fun Run’ that will be held in conjunction with the festival.
Fitness Zones will be placed in the park including a designated area for outdoor fitness equipment, fitness classes including Palongo, Zumba, Hip Hop, Yoga and Meditation, and a bike zone including a mini bike rodeo and Pedalpalooza’s funky bikes!
This event is also a Zero Waste event where the majority of the waste is diverted from the landfill through recycling and composting. Food vendors will be using compostable plates, cups, and flat ware. Plastic water bottles are discouraged.
The Sustain Arvada Festival is a way of honoring Arvada’s rich heritage and preserving resources to foster economic prosperity, environmental stewardship and community vitality today and into the future. Produced by the Arvada Festivals Commission and the Arvada Sustainability Advisory Committee, this event demonstrates support of the preservation of natural resources.
So if you are in or around Arvada this Saturday, go check out this great event and bring your family along as well!
