KAVA KAVA

Kava is an unusual drink that has been making its way on to the Denver scene recently. Kava is a drink made from the root of the Piper methysticum a plant from the islands of the Pacific Ocean. The drink is said to produce a calming effect and slight euphoria for some consumers (as well as a slight numbing of the lips). It has an earthy taste and many drinkers like to follow it up with a shot of pineapple juice to sweeten the intensity. It can be an interesting alternative when taking a break from alcohol for those evenings that you could use a wind down, or if you are looking for an unusual experience with low risk.

KAVASUTRA KAVA BAR

Kavasutra Kava Bar Denver is a great place for virgin and regular kava drinkers to try this unusual drink, as well as friends who would rather have something else. Kavasutra offers a special for those who are trying kava for the first time that includes a few shots of the root based drink as well as pineapple juice to help balance out the taste. For those not wanting to drink kava they have tea, kombucha and coffee for other liquid lifts.

SPECIALTY SODA

In a world of sodas sweetened with high fructose corn syrup and artificial flavors finding craft soda made with cane sugar and a variety real flavors can be quite intriguing and refreshing. Discover Denver spots to find specialty sodas!

ROCKY MOUNTIAN SODA CO.

Rocky Mountains Soda Co creates cane sugar sweetened bottles in flavors like Boulder Birch Beer (vanilla, maple syrup and wintergreen) Colorado Cola (“classic cola nut extract base…cinnamon, coriander, lime, vanilla and wild cherry”) or Loveland Lemon-Limade (sweet but tart). If you are looking for something that has a sugar alternative they produce Oogave – a run of sodas that is sweetened with agave instead of cane sugar. Those come in classic flavors like Ginger Ale and Sarsaparilla (Root Beer) or yummy twists like Apple Soda or Hibiscus Flower.

You can start sipping on this local beverage at a number of restaurants around the area or pick up a six pack at grocery stores in the area! Browse their retailers  to find a place near you or order what you want online and get the soda delivered to your door!
